ISLAMABAD: The arrival of a high-level Iranian delegation in Islamabad on Friday has effectively dispelled media speculation regarding Tehran’s participation in ongoing diplomatic engagements.

The delegation, led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, reached the capital to take part in talks aimed at addressing regional tensions.

In recent days, India’s media had reported that the Iranian leadership was unlikely to attend the Islamabad talks, citing unnamed sources. However, the delegation’s arrival has contradicted those claims.

Officials in Pakistan said the visit reflects ongoing diplomatic engagement and underscores Islamabad’s efforts to facilitate dialogue amid evolving regional dynamics.

The Iranian delegation was accorded a warm reception upon arrival, with senior Pakistani officials reiterating their commitment to constructive engagement and peaceful resolution of conflicts through diplomacy.

Analysts noted that the visit highlights the continuation of diplomatic channels between regional stakeholders, even as differing narratives emerge in parts of the media landscape.
