ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Salik Hussain has given good news that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait have assured relaxation in visa policy for Pakistani citizens.

According to Minister Salik Hussain, a positive response has been received from the Arab countries in this regard, and detailed discussions are underway on this issue.

The Federal Minister also announced that an agreement has been completed between Pakistan and Italy regarding the employment scheme.

He said that an Italian team will visit Pakistan next month to finalise the practical steps and procedures of this scheme.

On the other hand, an agreement has also been reached between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates on a pre-immigration clearance system.

In this regard, a delegation of the United Arab Emirates led by Director General of Customs and Port Security Ahmed bin Lahij Al-Falasi met Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and agreed to a formal agreement between the two countries.

According to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, under the new system, immigration and related clearance of passengers will be completed in Pakistan.

After the implementation of this system, passengers will not have to go through lengthy immigration procedures upon arrival in the UAE and will be able to exit the airport directly, which will initially be launched on a pilot basis from Karachi.
