MARDAN: The former Chief Minister and Senior leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Amir Haider Khan Hoti lashed out at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, claiming that CM Sohail Afridi was contemplating Punjab and Sindh while the province was still experiencing a wave of terror attacks.

This he said when he was speaking at a public meeting in Mardan. Hoti opined that the KP administration should work for the peace of its province rather than fighting in other regions for political power.

“The fire has already reached the province,” Hoti remarked as he criticized the security situation in KP. Hoti didn’t spare the CM Sohail Afridi and called him a political fool making the people suffer in his power game. He added that instead of facing the tough problem of terrorism in the province, the CM was thinking more of how to win over Punjab and Sindh.

The ANP leader also questioned the PTI-led administration’s method of dealing with protests at the same time elevating the practice of attributing every protest to the Pashtun community to an extent that Hoti remarked, “Why becomes every protest of PTI Pashtuns? Why should they be the ones to take all the heat of every protest when the (PTI) leadership is apparently caring more about the other provinces?”

Not only this but the ANP leader also questioned the chief minister’s demonstrations in Punjab by saying, “Why does the chief minister have to make protests in the Punjab area when Pervaiz Elahi is already there?” He deemed such an exercise as an unnecessary diversion and urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration to put an end to the internal issues that led to such protests rather than the issues of the province being staged in other areas.

Hoti emphasized the indeed of capturing the action going on through the whole province for getting rid of the terror regime that requires coordinated and focused efforts, suggesting that political manoeuvring and negotiations cannot go hand in hand.
