A delegation led by Awami National Party Provincial President Mian Iftikhar Hussain visited the Iranian Consulate and expressed heartfelt condolences with the Consul General Ali Banafshakha on the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The ANP delegation included Provincial Senior Vice President Syed Aqil Shah, General Secretary Hussain Shah Yousafzai, Spokesperson Arsalan Khan Nazim, Joint Secretary Hamid Toofan, Secretary Youth Affairs Tariq Afghan Advocate, Salar Shakirullah Shinwari, and others.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed heartfelt condolences and regret to the Consul General on the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The ANP delegation prayed for the elevation of the ranks of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and others who were martyred with him.
Speaking on the occasion, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that the Awami National Party expresses complete solidarity with the Iranian government and people and considers itself an equal partner in the grief of the Iranian people in this difficult time.
He said that respect for sovereign states and adherence to international laws are indispensable for lasting peace in the region. An attack on the leadership of any country is not only a blow to its sovereignty but also endangers the peace and stability of the entire region. He added that the region is already suffering the negative effects of unrest and wars; in such a situation, further tension will be detrimental to global peace.
The Awami National Party has always raised its voice against imperialist intervention, aggression, and unnecessary use of force. The Awami National Party believes in the philosophy of non-violence, and in the current circumstances, the need for Bacha Khan’s thoughts is more than ever.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain urged the international community to play an effective role in ending tensions, promoting dialogue, and protecting human lives. Terror, war, and bloodshed are not the solution to problems, but dialogue, mutual respect, and political prudence provide the basis for lasting peace. At the end of the meeting, the Iranian Consul General thanked the ANP leadership.
