PESHAWAR: Awami National Party expresses deep concern over the inconclusive end of the Istanbul talks and said that war and violence cannot be a lasting solution to any political issue. A lasting and dignified peace, achieved through comprehensive negotiations and mutual respect, should be the primary goal of all parties.

ANP calls on the Kabul authorities to move away from the militaristic mindset and adopt a responsible style of governance, and adhere to international diplomatic norms and regulations. This change is essential for Afghanistan’s internal stability and international credibility. The party also emphasizes that patronizing anti-Pakistan militant groups is a harmful strategy, which undermines the interests of regional peace and common security. A joint strategy based on cooperation is the need of the hour for lasting stability in the region.

The ANP warns that evasion of regional and international obligations will further aggravate the plight of the Afghan people, who are already suffering from unemployment, poverty, and oppression. In order to establish a lasting peace, the ANP calls on all parties to ensure the participation of political and business forces from both sides in the peace process. Taking into account the political, social, and economic aspects can only form the basis for a just and lasting solution.

The Awami National Party reiterates its unwavering commitment to the principles of peace, democracy, and regional cooperation, and is ready to play a constructive role in promoting dialogue and stability.
