The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Friday foiled a major drug trafficking attempt in Balochistan, seizing 222 kilograms of narcotics worth an estimated $54 million and arresting one suspect.

According to an ANF spokesperson, the operation was carried out by PS ANF Turbat. near Khalilabad, close to Satellite Town in Kech district.

The drugs were being transported from Panjgur to Turbat in an unregistered Zamyaad vehicle.
During the operation, ANF officials intercepted the vehicle and arrested the driver.

According to ANF, during the operation the recovered 99kg of methamphetamine (ice), 50kg of opium and 73kg of hashish.

The spokesperson said the international market value of the seized drugs was estimated at $54 million.

Domestically, the methamphetamine was valued at Rs25.74 million, opium at Rs7 million and hashish at Rs5.47 million.

Further investigations are under way to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the trafficking network.
