PESHAWAR: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested an Afghan national and recovered a cache of drugs after successfully foiling a smuggling attempt from Afghanistan into Pakistan.
ANF spokesperson said that the narcotics were hidden inside a cargo truck transporting honeybee boxes from Afghanistan to Pakistan. The ANF officials recovered 17,500 kilograms of heroin and 4,500 kilograms of ice from the secret compartments in the truck at the Torkham border terminal.
The officials arrested the truck driver, an Afghan national. Authorities estimate the total value of the seized drugs at Rs. 246 million.

ANF has registered the case under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigation is underway.
