PESHAWAR: Pakhtunkhwa Aman Jirga will be held on November 12, bringing together all key stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for restoring and sustaining peace and harmony across the province.

In a press statement, provincial minister for Local Government Meena Khan Afridi said that peace and stability are the top priorities of the provincial government, as progress, prosperity, and public welfare are only possible in a peaceful environment. He added that the Peace Jirga will be attended by religious scholars, political leaders, tribal elders, representatives of civil society, and government officials to discuss practical measures for strengthening peace through dialogue and collective wisdom.

Minister Meena Khan Afridi emphasised that lasting peace cannot be achieved without public participation, which is why the government has decided to bring together all segments of society on one platform. He said that the Peace Jirga will serve as a bridge for dialogue, reconciliation, and trust-building, paving the way for social harmony and unity in the province.

Afridi reaffirmed that the government is fully committed to working with all sections of society to restore lasting peace and to address challenges through mutual understanding and cooperation.

He further urged the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to promote a culture of tolerance, respect, and peace, adding that collective efforts are essential for transforming the province into a secure and prosperous region.
