PESHAWAR: All academic activities remained suspended at the University of Peshawar on Monday as teachers and employees staged a protest against the non-acceptance of their demands.

According to the University Teachers Association (UTA), the selection board has yet to be convened for previously advertised vacancies, causing growing concern among faculty members and employees. In protest, the association announced a complete boycott of classes, while staff assigned to examination duties also withdrew their services.

The UTA stated that no academic or administrative activities would be carried out during the protest. The association further demanded the immediate resolution of long-pending issues, including salaries, pensions, and other service-related matters of university employees.

University officials have yet to issue a formal response to the protest and the demands raised by the teachers and staff.
