PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, stepped down as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, following instructions from Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and confirmation from Salman Akram Raja.
Ali Amin Gandapur announced that the position of Chief Minister was a trust given to him by Imran Khan, and as per Khan’s directive, he is resigning and returning that trust.
Earlier, PTI General Secretary Salman Akram Raja confirmed Gandapur’s removal from the Chief Minister position. Speaking to media representatives outside Adiala Jail, Raja mentioned that Sohail Afridi would be nominated as the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Sources indicate that Afridi, who has been nominated for the role, is considered close to Aleema Khan.
