RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s T20 cricket team captain Salman Ali Agha mentioned that the team had a pool of the best all-rounders and young players will be given opportunities in the Triangular T20 Series next.
The almost a month-long tri-nation series tournament among Pakistan, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka was kick-started today in Rawalpindi. The tournament will open with the first match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe on the following day.
The press meeting and the trophy unveiling ceremony were attended by Zimbabwean captain Sikandar Raza, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka and Salman Ali Agha. They also got together for a photograph.
Talking to the media, Salman Ali Agha said the national team had the best combination of players and that the top all-rounders are in the team. Moreover, he assured that they will put young players on the field in the triangular series.
He furthermore mentioned: “Our performance in the games will be the best we can offer. The team remains the same, and the previous strategy that has been successful for us will be followed.”
On the question about the middle-order performance of the team, Salman confessed that it had been below standard. “We are making efforts so that Saim Ayub and I are the ones who bowl in the middle overs,” he said just before he talked about the cricket fans from Pakistan who have been supporting them endlessly.
After clean sweep, Shaheen Afridi eyes tri-series glory for Pakistan

In praise of his team after the third ODI against Sri Lanka, which concluded with a 3-0 sweep by Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi cited the players’ commitment and unity. “All our players are working extremely hard, and I have complete faith in each of them because they play for Pakistan,” he said.
The captain, while looking back at the recent victories, said, “Alhamdulillah, the team has won back-to-back series, against both Sri Lanka and our neighboring rivals. The team has declared that they accept all difficulties and ‘will give their best in the tri-series as well”.
Not only did he emphasize Babar Azam’s significance, but he also regarded him as the root of the team. “Although this time Babar did not make a hundred, the team had been expecting him to do so for a long time,” he said. He made a remarkable comeback and proved his worth.”
