MUMBAI: After nearly 7 years, the Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma is all set to return to the big screen with her upcoming film titled “Chakda Express”.
According to Indian media, Chakda Express is a biopic sports drama depicting the victorious life of the Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The film will be a direct-to-digital release and hence will only be accessible to Netflix subscribers.
It is indicated by the news that the filming of the movie was wrapped up a few months ago, but the release was held back due to the production company’s and Netflix’s disagreement. Nevertheless, the film is now scheduled to be released shortly, and the official announcement of the release date will most probably be made within the next few days.
Playing the role of a character, Anushka Sharma is the one in the film who depicts the story of the famous fast-bowling Jhulan Goswami, the one who brought India’s women’s cricket team to victory between 2002 and 2022. Jhulan is a native of the small town Chakda in West Bengal which ultimately became the film’s title as well.
Anushka did not come to the big screen with a film after the 2018 movie “Zero” in which she had acted alongside Shah Rukh Khan, playing a double role. Her comeback with the Chakda Express is one of the most talked-about comebacks of the last few years in Bollywood.
