RAWALPINDI: The captain of Pakistan cricket team Shaheen Shah Afridi has found the whole team to be strong and ready to produce a great performance in the upcoming tri-series.
In praise of his team after the third ODI against Sri Lanka, which concluded with a 3-0 sweep by Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi cited the players’ commitment and unity. “All our players are working extremely hard, and I have complete faith in each of them because they play for Pakistan,” he said.
The captain, while looking back at the recent victories, said, “Alhamdulillah, the team has won back-to-back series, against both Sri Lanka and our neighboring rivals. The team has declared that they accept all difficulties and ‘will give their best in the tri-series as well”.
Not only did he emphasize Babar Azam’s significance, but he also regarded him as the root of the team. “Although this time Babar did not make a hundred, the team had been expecting him to do so for a long time,” he said. He made a remarkable comeback and proved his worth.”
The wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan also got credit from the captain. “Rizwan has carried himself as a senior player and led by example on the field,” Afridi said.
The captain talked about Wasim Jr.’s injury recovery and added that the player had been given rest but is now fully fit and has made a successful comeback in ODIs.
Shaheen Afridi went on to mention the pacers of Pakistan team as game changers that have the ability to change the outcome of a match in any situation.
At the end of the conference, he said, “The team will enter the tri-series fully prepared. Insha’Allah, we will perform at our best and face every challenge with confidence.”
