Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Sardar Ahmad Shakib, has said that the Afghan Taliban has always preferred negotiations and appealed Islamic countries to play role of mediator between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
In an interview with Afghan media, Sardar Ahmad Shakib said that Islamic countries have mediated in several rounds of negotiations and we hope that in the future every issue will be resolved through dialogue. He said that Afghanistan wants peace and Islamic countries can play the role of good mediators to resolve the dispute between Kabul and Islamabad, we consider the role of Islamic countries essential in this regard.
He said that the Islamic Emirate has always preferred negotiations to any other option. Taliban government has tried to achieve self-sufficiency and reduce its dependence on imports in its economic strategy. Afghan government always try to convey that the Taliban’s goal is to serve the Afghan people, and that their government aims to stabilize the Afghan social structure. They expect the international community to play a positive role in the interests of the Afghan people and good relation with neighbors.
Questions have been raised around the world, especially regarding women’s education and freedom, and Taliban representatives have tried to convey that their government is ready to make changes with the times. Afghan ambassador have often talked about improving relations with Pakistan, China, Iran, and other neighboring countries to improve Afghanistan’s economic situation.
He appealed Islamic countries to play role of mediation between Pakistan and Afghanistan to restore bilateral relation with brotherly Islamic countries.
