ISLAMABAD: A select group of religious scholars from Afghanistan and Pakistan has issued a joint declaration to promote peace, brotherhood, and cooperation between the two countries.

The statement highlights the long-standing political, religious, and cultural ties between the two nations, emphasizing the need for their people to remain close based on their shared religion, culture, and historical bonds.

The declaration stresses the urgent need to address misunderstandings, build mutual trust, and seek peaceful solutions to common challenges in the current context. It calls for both nations to adopt a peaceful approach in resolving their differences, avoiding discord, and promoting unity.

The scholars affirmed that Islam teaches peace, brotherhood, and justice, and it is imperative for both the people and leadership of both countries to steer clear of unrest and division.

The joint statement also advocates for strengthening Afghanistan and Pakistan’s relationship through dialogue, cooperation, and synchronization, which, according to the scholars, is vital to ensuring lasting peace in the region.

The religious leaders called for peaceful conflict resolution and cautioned against any actions that could harm bilateral relations.

Both Afghan and Pakistani scholars urged their respective peoples and leadership to work with patience, tolerance, and wisdom in reinforcing relations and contributing positively to regional stability.

According to the declaration, both the scholars and the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan will play an active role in promoting peace, brotherhood, and positive relations in order to ensure long-term stability in the region.
