Renowned Afghan journalist Sami Yousafzai has sharply criticised Afghanistan’s current situation and leadership decisions, questioning whether the country is being pushed towards another deep crisis.
In a post on X, Yousafzai asked whether, after Mullah Omar, it is now Mullah Hibatullah turn to steer Afghanistan into further turmoil.
He stated that Afghanistan has already paid a heavy price for repeated miscalculations and unnecessary wars.
Yousafzai emphasised that war is neither a sign of strength nor political skill, but a failure that leaves behind only pain and suffering.
He added that the Afghan people deserve better, stressing that they deserve peace.
