ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information has termed the recent claims of the Afghan Taliban as fabricated and false.
The ministry clarified that the Taliban had claimed a successful attack in Wana, South Waziristan, but this claim turned out to be false.
The Ministry of Information said that pictures of the wreckage of a Pakistani drone have also been released, which clearly show that the drone was of a simple nature and was destroyed by a soft kill.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information, the drone did not damage any military installation or infrastructure.
The Information Minister said that the Afghan Taliban had made false claims in the past of shooting down Pakistan Air Force aircraft and capturing the pilot, and this time too, their claims cannot be trusted.
The Ministry of Information further said that the propaganda activities of the Afghan Taliban regime are fabricated and baseless, and the public should not pay attention to them.
