Afghan Deputy Spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat has assured the public that 492 individuals, previously reported as victims of a fatal incident, are alive and have been relocated to a secure facility.

Afghan deputy spokesperson Fitrat shared an official statement and a list of these individuals on his social media platform, X, clarifying that they are safe after being transferred from the rehabilitation center.

Claims regarding the fatalities of these individuals were made by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), which reported that over 400 people had been killed and around 250 others injured in the incident. However, the list shared by Fitrat does not include any names of deceased individuals, raising questions about the accuracy of the earlier casualty reports.

Sources familiar with the facility’s operations indicated that it is a relatively small rehab center, not equipped to accommodate such a large number of patients. The stark contrast between the reported casualties and the list of safe individuals has led some to suspect that the claims of mass killings may be exaggerated, potentially aimed at spreading false propaganda to discredit Pakistan.

The incident continues to generate debate, with critics questioning the reliability of the reported numbers and the motives behind such claims.
