ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has identified a fake website impersonating the authority’s visa portal and issued an advisory urging citizens to remain cautious.

In a public awareness message, NADRA said a fraudulent website http://www.visa.nadragov.online had been detected which mimics the authority’s official visa portal.

According to a NADRA spokesperson, the website is not affiliated with the authority and may be used to obtain personal information or payments from unsuspecting users.

Citizens have been advised not to access the website or provide any personal information on it. NADRA clarified that its only official visa portal is https://visa.nadra.gov.pk.

The authority further urged the public to ensure that all NADRA services are accessed only through official government websites ending with .gov.pk.

Meanwhile, the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT) has also issued an advisory for citizens, stating that nine NADRA-style fraudulent websites were blocked in the past month for stealing users’ personal data.

According to the alert, the fake websites were designed to collect citizens’ sensitive information. The advisory urged the public not to share personal details without verification and to avoid clicking on suspicious links received via emails or SMS.

The advisory added that NADRA and National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) are actively working to counter misleading and malicious cyber activities.
