DUBAI: Pakistan’s talented leg-spinner has made a stunning leap, moving up 12 spots to claim the 4th position after his outstanding performance in the Asia Cup 2025.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) latest T20 player rankings, India’s Varun Chakravarthy who’s leading the pack, followed closely by New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy in second and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein in third.
Abrar’s remarkable bowling display, particularly against Sri Lanka where he only gave away 8 runs in 4 overs while taking a wicket, has catapulted him from 16th to 4th place in the rankings.
Meanwhile, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has also made strides, moving up two spots to 25th, while Haris Rauf has jumped nine places to land at 28th. On the flip side, Muhammad Nawaz has unfortunately dropped 13 places to 46th, and Sufiyan Muqeem has slipped three spots to 14th. Indian bowler Hardik Pandya has seen a nice boost as well, climbing six places to now sit at 60th.
In the ICC T20 batsmen rankings, India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to hold the top spot, with England’s Phil Salt in second and India’s Tilak Varma rising one spot to third. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan has made a significant leap of 31 places to reach 24th, while Saeem Ayub has dropped eight places to 55th.
Pakistan’s captain Salman Ali Agha and opener Fakhar Zaman have both improved their standings, now sitting at 65th and 66th, respectively.

As for the T20 all-rounders, India’s Hardik Pandya remains at the top, with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan in second and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza in third. Pakistan’s Saeem Ayub is ranked 5th, Muhammad Nawaz has moved up one spot to 17th, and Faheem Ashraf has climbed an impressive 12 places to 39th.
