ABBOTTABAD: Abbottabad police on Sunday safely recovered three missing tourists who had lost their way during sightseeing in the Galiyat area and shifted them to a hospital for first aid.
According to a statement issued by the Abbottabad police, on the instructions of RPO Hazara Nasir Mahmood Satti, a rescue operation was carried out under the supervision of DPO Abbottabad Haroon Rashid Khan. Police teams and Rescue 1122 teams successfully traced the tourists at the popular tourist destination of Miranjani Top after they went missing amid snowfall, mountainous terrain and difficult routes.
According to police, the recovered tourists were identified as Zahid, son of Umar Shahzad, Khanzada Shahan, son of Naseer Ali Khan and Umar, son of Muhammad Ahmed, all residents of Multan. They lost their way on January 9 while visiting the area.
Upon receiving information, Abbottabad police immediately launched a search operation. After two days of continuous efforts, the police located the tourists one by one and shifted them to a safe location. The tourists were later provided medical assistance.
The rescued tourists appreciated and thanked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police for their professionalism and timely rescue operation.
