Provincial Minister for Minerals Sher Ali Gorchani has said that there is good news for the people of Punjab that 266 million metric tons of iron ore discovered from Chiniot will be auctioned in the next 2 to 3 months.
Talking to media persons, he said that this project was stalled during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government, but now it has been completed. The provincial minister said that in the past, during the case of 56 companies, a German company was working here, and a case was filed against it. Due to the high value of the dollar, the company had to pay 560 million rupees, which the government has paid.
According to him, the feasibility report for iron extraction has been received by the government, and the German company will soon issue a report on its tendering. The auction of the project will be held in the coming days.
He also announced that a re-report of the gold discovered in Attock is being prepared. NESPAK has been instructed to re-evaluate each block so that the quantity can be confirmed. He said that the complete report will be received within 3 months, after which the tender process will be started at the global level.
According to Sher Ali Gorchani, Section 144 has been imposed there to protect the 2.8 million tola gold reserves discovered in the Attock district so that there is no theft or illegal activity. There have been incidents of theft from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but now they have been controlled.
