LAHORE: The President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, has said that the PTI founder, Imran Khan, is not alone responsible, but those who brought him are also criminals to face the consequences.

The PML-N supremo, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, was addressing a news conference during a meeting with newly elected lawmakers in the recent by-elections at Lahore.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and other officials were present at the event.

Nawaz Sharif congratulated the newly elected members of the assembly on their victory in the election. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) successfully defeated its opponents in the by-election, showcasing a significant win.

He highlighted that inflation was at 3% during their administration, contrasting it with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, which saw inflation rise to 39%. Sharif stressed that the entire nation is currently suffering due to the conditions created by the previous government.

He noted that the country was on a path of development in 2017 and that government measures had effectively reduced inflation. If the pace of development had continued, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would not have been as concerned as it is today.

Sharif pointed out that the public voted in the by-election based on the performance of the PML-N. In just one and a half years, a public service card has been established, helping citizens. He mentioned that the country has been brought back from the brink of default and emphasised the need to continue on the road to development.

In conclusion, he asserted that Pakistan is being restored to a path of growth.
