SWABI: Two persons have been killed, and 15 others were injured when a speedy bus hit with passenger coach at the Shiva Bus stop area in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at around 7:30 am when the flying coach, going from Batkhela to Islamabad Airport, collided with another passenger bus near Shiva Adda Chowk. According to initial reports, the coach was carrying passengers to take their relatives back from Islamabad Airport.
A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Belal Faizi, said that two persons were killed in the accident. The deceased include a 15-year-old boy and the coach driver. The boy has been identified as Muhammad Noman, a resident of Batkhela. The driver’s name was Asif Ali, who had been working with Flying Coach for 3 years and was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. The accident was so severe that both people died on the spot.
Five ambulances of Rescue 1122 immediately reached the accident site and started providing first aid to the injured. The injured included women and children, who were immediately shifted to Kalu Khan Hospital. The condition of some of the injured was critical, and later they were shifted to Bacha Khan Medical Complex for further treatment.
The number of injured reached 15, out of which five people were in critical condition. According to hospital sources, most of the injured have sustained serious injuries on their bodies, especially in the head, chest, and abdomen. According to the initial investigation of the accident, the accident occurred due to high speed. The police have started an investigation and have decided to take action against those involved in the accident.
Spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said, five rescue vehicles reached the spot immediately, provided medical assistance to the injured, and shifted them to the hospital. Rescue 1122 staff completely blocked the road immediately after the accident so that there was no hindrance in the rescue operations.
