ISLAMABAD – The district administration has intensified its anti-dengue campaign in the federal capital to curb the spread of the dengue virus, carrying out extensive surveillance and spraying operations across multiple sectors.
According to the latest report, anti-dengue teams conducted spraying at 1,399 locations and fogging at 914 sites during the past 24 hours. A total of 34,556 sites were inspected as part of the surveillance activity.
During the past 24 hours, 27 new dengue cases were reported in Islamabad, of which 20 were reported from rural areas and 7 from urban sectors. Currently, 64 patients are under treatment at various hospitals in the city.
According to the district health office, surveillance teams found dengue larvae at 213 locations, while 3 sites returned negative results.
The district administration has directed field teams to continue daily monitoring of identified hotspots and maintain strict vigilance. Anti-dengue spraying and awareness activities are ongoing in both residential and public areas.
Authorities have warned that any violation of dengue SOPs will result in the sealing of identified sites and strict legal action taken. The administration also urged citizens to cooperate with fogging teams to help make Islamabad completely dengue-free.
