Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) has suspended free treatment provided Sehat Card program due to non-payment of funds, due to which patients are facing severe difficulties.

A statement issued by the hospital administration said that the free treatment service under Sehat Card has been suspended due to the government not providing funds to the insurance company. According to the administration, the insurance company has not paid the hospital’s dues worth crores of rupees, due to which the hospital is facing financial difficulties.

The Khyber Teaching Hospital administration has said that due to a lack of funds, it has not been possible to provide treatment to patients under the Sehat Card and has appealed to the government to take immediate steps so that these services can be restored as soon as possible.

This suspension is causing concern among patients and their families awaiting treatment at the hospital, as the Sehat Card has been providing free treatment to thousands of people for the past several years.
