PESHAWAR: A first incident of its kind took place in the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, on Monday where a woman allegedly snatched a mobile phone from a passerby.
According to the police, a woman riding on the motorcycle has snatched the mobile phone from a passerby in the Saddar area of Peshawar. The incident is considered to be first case of its kind in which a woman is involed in the robbery incident.
A video of the incident captured by a close circuit camera (CCTV) has also went viral on Social Media and widely shared across multiple Social Applications.
In the footage, the woman could be seen snatching the mobile phone from the passerby student. Video shows that a man is riding the bike and the woman is sitting behind who snatched the mobile phone from the student.
The accused managed to fle soon after committing the crime.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Peshawar, Masood Bangash told journalists regarding the incident that an investigation has been launched about the viral footage and is being determined whether it is a woman or man posing to be woman (Burqa-clad).
According to the police the student did not lodge the FIR at the police station. However, investigation is underway to ascertain the incident.
