PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chapter on Friday announced the schedule for the third by-elections for 12 vacant seats across various categories in seven districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will take place on October 19.
The election campaign will conclude on the night between October 17 and 18. Polling hours will be from 8 AM to 4 PM.
These by-elections will be conducted for 12 vacant seats in the following categories: general, women, labourers, farmers, and youth. The districts involved in the elections are Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Malakand, Shangla, and Upper Dir. All necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the transparent conduct of the by-elections.
A total of 88,359 eligible voters will exercise their right to vote. There will be 66 polling stations and 201 polling booths set up for this purpose. Among these polling stations, 23 have been classified as sensitive, while 5 are considered more sensitive. Security cameras will be installed at the more sensitive polling stations to enhance security. The polling staff will receive the election materials, including ballot papers, on Saturday and will transport them to their respective polling stations.
The Provincial Election Commissioner has urged all voters to participate in the elections on October 19 without fear or concern.
