ISLAMABAD: Babusar Top Road has been reopened to all types of traffic after a three-day suspension caused by heavy snowfall, restoring connectivity between Gilgit and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to police, the route had been closed from the Gilgit side as snowfall made travel difficult. Authorities have since cleared the way and resumed traffic from both sides, allowing tourists and other travellers to continue their journeys.

The closure had disrupted travel for people commuting between Gilgit and Mansehra, leaving several vehicles stranded along the route.

Three oil tankers had also remained stuck at Babusar Top during the closure. Police have now recovered the vehicles and permitted them to proceed, easing the backlog of traffic.

The reopening is expected to provide relief to travellers who had been facing delays due to the adverse weather conditions.
