ISLAMABAD: Fazlur Rehman’s Opportunistic Politics, Alleged Assets Beyond Income and Unchecked Use of Religious Card Raise Serious Questions.
From a journey starting from one madrassa to establishing a network of more than 40,000 madrassas across the country, the behind-the-scenes facts have forced conscious people to think.
The question is being strongly raised by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as to where billions of rupees come from to run the system of these thousands of madrassas, who has financial control over them, and why innocent children studying there are used only for political gatherings and protest demonstrations instead of bringing them into the national mainstream.
Big questions have also arisen over Fazlur Rehman’s lavish lifestyle, luxurious bungalow located in an expensive area like G-6 Islamabad, and separate luxurious palace-like houses of each of his brothers and sons in Dera Ismail Khan.
Without any known and clear business or industry, billions of rupees worth of properties spread from Islamabad to various cities, a long convoy of Land Cruisers and lavish expenditures are a deep question mark on Fazlur Rehman’s piety and asceticism.
People are justified in asking how much tax he paid to the country last year and where did this immense wealth come from to his children.
Fazlur Rehman’s political journey also presents the worst example of nepotism and hereditary domination. From his father’s death till today, he has occupied the central leadership of the party, while other long-standing and sincere leaders in the party have been completely ignored.
Surprisingly, Fazlur Rehman himself is the central leader, his brother is the leader of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Senator, while his son is a minister in the federal government and handling the digital media system.
By limiting all important political and financial positions of the party to one family, the question is now being raised whether this is a political or religious party or a family private limited company.
The blackmailing and opportunism of Fazlur Rehman, who uses the poor people of Pakistan, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for his political and financial interests, has now been exposed.
The people and the nation are now demanding accountability as to who are the real beneficiaries of funds, privileges and lands allotted at cheap rates collected in the name of religion and madrassas and when will the account of his lavish gatherings and luxuries be given.
