The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has outlined the documents and verification requirements for overseas Pakistanis aged 18 and above applying for a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) for the first time.

According to NADRA, applicants must provide the identity card or NICOP number of a parent or blood relative, along with a detailed foreign birth certificate, S1 form, citizenship or naturalisation certificate, and relevant travel or residence documents.

Required documents may include a Pakistani or foreign passport, residence permit, travel document, or an Affidavit A attested by a Pakistani embassy or diplomatic mission.

NADRA has stated that application forms can be verified through biometric authentication by a parent or sibling aged 18 or above.

If biometric verification is not possible, applicants must get their forms attested by a gazetted officer or public representative in Pakistan, or by a NICOP holder residing abroad.

Applicants who have no family record in NADRA’s database must provide two witnesses who hold a NICOP or identity card, along with Affidavit B.

Applications can be submitted through the Pak ID mobile application or by visiting the relevant NADRA registration centre.

The requirements aim to guide first-time applicants through the registration process and ensure that the necessary identity and supporting documents are provided.
