Road cleaning underway across Peshawar as WSSP teams take action after rainfall
Earlier, the Peshawar district administration has launched emergency drainage operations following rainfall, with officials monitoring field activities to ensure the swift removal of accumulated rainwater from major roads and low-lying areas.
Drainage work is progressing rapidly across key thoroughfares and low-lying localities, while municipal teams are working late into the night to clear waterlogged streets and lanes, clean drains and address public inconvenience.
Authorities are also removing garbage from roads and taking measures to ensure the effective functioning of the drainage system.
Meanwhile, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Peshawar has introduced special traffic management measures to maintain the smooth flow of traffic following the rainfall.
Additional traffic personnel have been deployed at busy roads, intersections and waterlogged points. Special arrangements have also been made around commercial centres, educational institutions and bus stops to facilitate commuters and prevent traffic congestion.
