PESHAWAR: The flour crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)has intensified, with dealers reporting supply shortages and a sharp increase in prices across the province.
Flour dealers have expressed concern over the unusual rise in prices, while also complaining that they are not receiving their allocated flour quotas.
According to dealers, disruptions in the supply of flour from Punjab have created a shortage in the market, pushing prices higher.
Flour Supply Hit After Permits Cancelled
Senior Vice President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Flour Dealers Association, Haji Nisar, claimed that the province’s flour supply was affected after the Punjab government cancelled all permits for the transportation of flour to KP.
The dealers’ association said the price of an 80kg bag of flour has risen to Rs14,000 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
