ISLAMABAD: The federal government has officially launched the National Housing Policy 2026, aimed at helping ordinary citizens and homeless families secure affordable housing and own their homes.

Federal Minister for Climate Change Dr Musadik Masood Malik addressed the launch ceremony in Islamabad and highlighted the policy’s focus on providing comprehensive planning and support for people without adequate housing.

As per the minister, the National Housing Policy was formulated in order to enable ordinary citizens to become homeowners and address the housing needs of the country through effective planning and implementation of the policy.

“Available resources would be used for the successful implementation of the policy and to produce positive outcomes,” he added.

The minister also pointed out that the policy would prove to be very instrumental in ensuring sustainable urban development in the country.

Under the proposed housing policy, special attention would be paid to the development of environment-friendly housing units capable of meeting modern requirements and withstand the effects of climate change.
