PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched an e-Fard portal to make land records more accessible to citizens and reduce the need for repeated visits to revenue offices.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi formally inaugurated the digital land record service, saying the government’s priority was to provide transparent and efficient public services at people’s doorsteps. Under the e-Fard system, citizens will be able to obtain copies of their land records from home or through nearby service centres. The service will be available through the official website, NADRA e-Sahulat centres and the Dastak app.
The system will also use biometric verification through NADRA to authenticate applicants and improve the security of land record transactions. According to details provided at the launch, citizens will be able to pay the applicable fee electronically through OneLink or Easypaisa.
Once issued, the e-Fard will be stored in the user’s account, while its authenticity can be verified online through a QR code. The digital service is aimed at making the process of obtaining land records faster and more convenient while reducing reliance on physical visits to government offices.
The service is particularly relevant to citizens requiring official land documents for property transactions, inheritance matters and other legal and administrative purposes. Speaking at the launch, Chief Minister Afridi expressed the hope that the digital system would help improve transparency in land records and reduce complaints related to land and revenue services.
He said the use of technology for public service delivery was an important part of the government’s reform agenda and that citizens should be able to access essential government services without unnecessary delays or visits to government offices. The launch marks a step towards the digitisation of land record services in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the government seeking to make land-related documents more accessible to citizens.
