KARACHI: Major Shake-Up in Pakistan Cricket team expected as important players are going to be dropped.
According to sources, the captaincy era of T20 captain Salman Ali Agha has come to an end, and he has been dropped from the squad as well. After Tests, Salman Ali Agha is now out of the T20 team too; he will now be part of only the ODI squad.
According to sources, there is a competition between Sahibzada Farhan and Shadab Khan for the new T20 captain. After Haris Rauf, it has also been decided to drop Shaheen Afridi from the T20 squad.
Shaheen Afridi has taken the most wickets for Pakistan, with 136, and Haris Rauf has taken 133 wickets. Edgbaston Test Hero Azan Awais is a strong candidate for inclusion in the T20 and ODI squads.
According to sources, Shaheen Afridi will continue to lead the ODI team, while Test captain Babar Azam will be part of the T20 and ODI squads.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play 3 T20s in Rawalpindi from October 9 to 13. It should be noted that a tri-nation ODI tournament will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from October 18 to 31, in which host Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka will participate.
