LONDON: Professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, better known by his ring name PAC, has died at the age of 40.
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced Satterley’s death, expressing its condolences and recalling that the promotion signed him in 2019.
The wrestler’s death was confirmed after he had appeared at AEW’s “All Out” event at an arena in Chicago on Saturday evening.
In a statement, AEW said Satterley, who was from Newcastle upon Tyne, England, began his professional wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling promotions around the world.
The promotion praised his innovative high-flying style and in-ring ability, saying he had entertained fans throughout his career.
No cause of death was disclosed.
Satterley won numerous AEW championships and had participated in many of the memorable matches of AEW, states AEW.
He also worked for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and Mexican wrestling companies prior to AEW.
In his career, Satterley wrestled using different ring names such as PAC and Adrian Neville. In addition, the character “The Man That Gravity Forgot” is related to his acrobatic style of wrestling and top rope manoeuvres.
His career lasted over two decades and made him one of the renowned British wrestlers of his generation.
