TANK: Three traffic police personnel were martyred when armed assailants opened fire on a traffic police vehicle in Wazirabad area of Tank district.
According to police sources, unidentified armed men targeted the traffic police vehicle near Wazirabad. As a result of the firing, three personnel on duty were martyred on the spot.
The martyred personnel have been identified as Pir Khalid, Warden Gul Amin and Warden Saleem Ullah.
Police sources further said that after the attack, the assailants also fled with the police vehicle and official weapons.
Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and started a search operation. Investigation into the incident is underway.
