MALAKAND: Two-day Training Workshop on Mobile Journalism held at Malakand University – Report by Zafar Ali Shah
A two-day training workshop on “Mobile Journalism (MoJo)” was organized by the Department of Journalism, University of Malakand, for students and local journalists.
The workshop was held at the seminar hall of the Journalism Department. The main objective was to equip students and local journalists of Dir and Malakand Division with the modern requirements of journalism.
On the first day, experts shed light on the introduction of Mobile Journalism, its importance, and its impact on traditional journalism. Participants were briefed on how news coverage, video recording, editing, and broadcasting is possible with just a smartphone.
The second day was dedicated to practical training, which included Professional video making techniques from mobile,Audio recording and interview technique, Video editing using apps like CapCut, KineMaster, and InShot, Fact-checking, fake news verification, and digital safety
The Chairman of the Journalism Department said that in today’s digital era, learning Mobile Journalism has become indispensable for every journalist, especially in remote areas where resources are limited, the mobile phone is the biggest tool.
At the end of the workshop, certificates were distributed among the students and journalists. The participants appreciated the initiative, saying that such workshops will enhance their professional skills.
