The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and dry weather across most plain areas of the country over the next 12 hours, while rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in some areas during the evening and night.
According to the weather department, parts of central and southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab and the Potohar region are likely to receive rain during the evening and night. Strong winds and thunderstorms are also expected at some places.
In Lahore, the morning temperature was recorded at 25°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to remain around 33°C. Air pollution also remains a concern in the city, with experts advising residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure in polluted conditions.
Islamabad recorded a morning temperature of 19°C. The PMD forecast hot and dry weather during the day, with partly cloudy conditions likely during the evening and night.
Meanwhile, several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may experience rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy in the upper parts of the province.
The PMD also forecast chances of rain and thunderstorms in some areas of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Most plain areas of the country, however, are expected to continue experiencing hot and dry weather.
