WhatsApp has started testing a new feature that will allow users to share photos, videos and Reels from Facebook and Instagram directly through the messaging platform.
According to technology website WABetaInfo, the cross-sharing feature is being tested on beta versions of WhatsApp for both Android and iOS devices.
Under the feature, Facebook and Instagram will appear among the available media sources when users open WhatsApp’s media picker. Users will be able to select their Stories, posts and Reels and share them directly on WhatsApp.
The media available from Facebook and Instagram will be displayed in a grid, making it easier for users to browse and select specific photos, videos or Reels.
The feature is currently being tested with a limited number of beta users. WhatsApp has not yet announced when the feature will be made available to the general public.
