The Agriculture Department has advised farmers to use quality and approved seeds to ensure better production of winter vegetables across Punjab.
Farmers in Faisalabad division, including Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot, as well as those in other parts of the province, have been advised to use approved seed varieties for the cultivation of carrots, radishes and turnips during the winter season.
According to the Agriculture Department Faisalabad, farmers should use four to five kilogrammes of seed per acre for radish, five to eight kilogrammes for carrots and one to 1.5 kilogrammes for turnips.
Director Agriculture Extension Faisalabad Khalid Mahmood advised farmers to pay particular attention to the recommended seed rate to ensure a healthy and productive crop.
