ISLAMABAD: Renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel has been awarded an honorary Ph.D. degree by the American International Theism University, Florida.
A ceremony was held to confer the honorary Ph.D. degree on Maulana Tariq Jameel, where he addressed the gathering. Maulana Tariq Jameel said that being selected for the honorary degree is an honour for me; it has filled me with happiness and bliss.
Maulana said that his father wanted to make him a doctor and at the age of 11, he got admission in Central Model School. “My father was an educated person and was the stage secretary during Quaid-e-Azam’s visit to Multan,” he said.
“I started singing from primary school due to my hobby, but what happens is what Allah wills. When other students used to read books, I used to read film magazines. He said that I was beaten the most by teachers for not studying. I did not study the whole year and started praying in the last days. I used to read the book from beginning to end and memorize it”. He added.
“When I stood second in 8th class in Central Model School, the teachers were very surprised. My fellow students liked my singing very much, this was my background.
Maulana Tariq Jameel said that one day my friend suddenly took me along on Friday and took me to Neela Gumbad Mosque to offer Friday prayers. “ At that time, he said that today we have to go to Tableeghi Jamaat. At first I made excuses but then I went. There my three days became four months. Meanwhile, a companion asked me What are you doing, so I told him that I am becoming a doctor, he said become an Aalim. He said that sorry to say, at that time doctors were credible, today patients are customers for them” he remarked.
“When my father found out, he threw me out of the house saying that if you want to become a Maulvi, then get out. My mother, who was even stricter than him, gave me 300 rupees while leaving. This was my journey towards Deen.Maulana Tariq Jameel said that the summary of all Islamic books is the Quran, summary of Quran is Surah Fatiha, and the summary of Surah Fatiha is ‘Iyyaka Na’budu Wa Iyyaka Nasta’een’. Allah is free from every deficiency.
“ When our beloved Prophet needed something, he used to ask Allah through prayers. Allah Almighty has said that until you bow your heads before the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), you will not get success.He said that the claim of love for Allah will only be fulfilled when there is love for the Habib of Allah (PBUH)”.
“ Allah says that when the Ummah does not follow him, then they have no faith. If we deviate from the way of the Prophet (PBUH) of Allah, we will be disgraced. This thing has been proved today because today there are 57 Islamic countries but they are humiliated in the world. This is all because of leaving the path of the Prophet (PBUH) of Allah.
Maulana Tariq Jameel said that those who think that they died and are finished, should know that just as Allah created them first, He will raise them again. Allah has to take account in the Hereafter. About the blessings that Allah has given, Allah will ask What have you brought for the Hereafter.
Whoever’s deeds will be empty will be thrown into hell. He said that the world is a house of deception, it is not an ideal home. No matter how much you build in this world, it will remain here; success is in preparing for the Hereafter. Ask Allah for death with faith. At the time of death of a pious person, angels come and give him glad tidings of Paradise. Strive for Paradise and do deeds that seek refuge from Hell.
