PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a 6-month paid internship program for poor, unemployed, and skilled youth to enhance their practical skills and get jobs.
The initiative is introduced under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Economic Transformation Project (KP-RETP), monitored by the provincial government and executed through the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (KP-TEVTA).
In this connection, online applications are being accepted from eligible male and female technical graduates. The initiative is aimed at helping skilled youth gain practical experience and improve their chances of finding employment.
According to the eligibility criteria, an applicant must be a permanent resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and must hold a valid domicile. Candidates must have a registered PMT score between 0 and 40 in the NSER database. Applicants must be certified in a relevant field by a recognized testing board, Board of Technical Education, University of Technology, Engineering University or another government-approved institution from 2023 onwards.
The age limit is 18 to 29 years for males and 18 to 35 years for females. The programme also reserves 50% of the total internship seats for women to encourage their participation in technical and vocational fields. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official portal at retp.kptevta.gov.pk.
