PESHAWAR: The office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued instructions to the province’s police leadership, including all unit heads, the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar, Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs), regarding compliance with an Islamabad High Court ruling.
According to the circular, the instructions have been issued to ensure full implementation of the court’s decision in Writ Petition No. 4421/2026.
Under the directives, no officer or personnel of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police will comply with any order to provide assistance or logistical support for a political march, rally or procession travelling towards Islamabad.
The IGP office further directed that if any police official is pressured, threatened or offered an incentive by a political leader or senior government official to provide such assistance, the matter must immediately be reported to the chief secretary or the IGP.
The circular also prohibits the use of government funds, police vehicles, machinery, equipment or other official resources for any political march or rally.
The IGP office warned that officers and personnel found violating the court’s directives or the newly issued instructions would face immediate and strict departmental action.
