PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has disposed of the contempt of court petition filed by Provincial Minister Meena Khan Afridi after his name was removed from the Passport Control List (PCL) and Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).
According to the order, the petitioner had filed a contempt of court application seeking implementation of the court’s July 24, 2026 orders. The petitioner’s counsel argued that the court had declared the inclusion of Meena Khan Afridi’s name in the control list as illegal and had allowed him to travel abroad, directing the respondents not to create any hurdle in his travel.
According to the judgment, in the last hearing, the court had summoned the concerned officials of FIA, Passport and Immigration and the Ministry of Interior, upon which the parties appeared before the court.
The Additional Attorney General submitted an implementation report in the court, stating that the petitioner’s name was removed from the Passport Control List (PCL) on September 3, 2026, and from the PNIL on September 4, 2026.
The report further stated that Meena Khan Afridi’s name is currently not on any control list, therefore, he can travel abroad in accordance with the law. After reviewing the implementation report, the court declared that the petitioner’s name had been removed from the control lists, after which the contempt of court petition was disposed of.
