LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed it has initiated an internal disciplinary inquiry following recent media reports about issues related to discipline and conduct within the national team setup.
In an official statement issued on Monday, the PCB said the matter is “currently being reviewed internally” and that it deals with all such cases in accordance with its standard procedures and regulations.
“The process is being conducted under PCB regulations, ensuring that all concerned individuals are given due consideration,” the Board stated.
The Board also addressed the wave of reports and rumors circulating on social media and certain news platforms.”At this stage, any speculative reports or unverified claims circulating on certain platforms, particularly those originating from hostile external sources, should not be regarded as credible,” the PCB said.
The statement did not name any players, officials, or specify the nature of the alleged breach. No Further Comments For NowThe PCB said it will not comment further while the inquiry is ongoing.
“The Board advises stakeholders and the public to rely on official PCB communications for accurate and verified information,” it added. This comes days after reports suggested that multiple Pakistan players had been fined for a disciplinary breach during the team’s recent camp/tour.
However, the PCB has not confirmed any names, number of players, or specific penalties at this stage. The Board is expected to release its findings and any decisions once the internal review is completed.
