MARDAN: A severe power crisis linked to the Jan Abad feeder has crippled daily life across more than 20 villages, leaving thousands of residents facing extreme hardship in areas including Maho Dheri, Chamtar, Akbar Abad, and Mhonrai.

‎Local residents report that electricity is supplied for barely a few hours out of every 24 hours. The problem is further aggravated by low voltage and frequent tripping, which have severely disrupted daily routines, children’s education, and local businesses. The prolonged outages have also caused acute water shortages in the affected areas.

‎Expressing deep frustration, community members stated that they continue to face these severe disruptions despite paying their electricity bills regularly.

‎ They highlighted that the electricity situation has remained dire for over two years. Despite submitting numerous complaints to the authorities, no permanent solution has been implemented.

‎Residents have urgently appealed to the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and higher authorities to address the issues with the Jan Abad feeder without delay and restore a reliable power supply.
