PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police has ordered the transfer and posting of two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) with immediate effect in the public interest.
According to an official notification issued by the office of the Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Saif-ur-Rehman, DSP (BS-17), has been transferred from his position as DSP Legal, City Traffic Peshawar, and posted as SP Traffic Warden Bannu in his own pay and scale.
Meanwhile, Ehsan-ud-Din, DSP (BS-17), has been transferred from his position as SP Traffic Warden Bannu and placed at the disposal of the Commandant Special Security Unit (SSU) CPEC, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for further posting as SP in his own pay and scale.
The notification was issued under the powers vested in the Provincial Police Officer, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under Section 17(4) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act, 2017.
The transfers and postings will take effect immediately.
KP Police Appoints 38 Computer Operators Through ETEA Recruitment Process
Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has taken another step toward strengthening merit-based recruitment by appointing 38 new computer operators selected through the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) examinations.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed handed over appointment letters to the newly selected computer operators during a ceremony held at the Central Police Office in Peshawar. Additional inspectors general, deputy inspectors general and other senior police officials attended the ceremony.
Congratulating the newly appointed employees, the IGP said recruitment in the KP Police was being carried out strictly on the principles of merit, competence and transparency, with no compromise on the process.
He said the young candidates selected through ETEA had become part of the police force after proving their abilities and qualifications. Their appointments, he added, demonstrated that opportunities were available for talented and deserving young people to join the KP Police.
Addressing the new computer operators, the IGP said they had not merely been offered government jobs but had been given an opportunity to become part of an important national institution. He urged them to use their skills, hard work and professional capabilities to improve public service and the police’s institutional systems.
The IGP highlighted the growing importance of technology in modern policing, saying law enforcement was no longer limited to traditional methods. Digital records, data management and rapid information systems had become essential components of effective policing.
He said the inclusion of technically skilled personnel would help make the KP Police’s digital and administrative systems more efficient. The newly appointed computer operators would play an important role in strengthening the force’s digital infrastructure and office-based operations.
“We are building a police force that is equipped with modern technology, professionally strong and capable of providing timely services to the public,” the IGP said.
He urged the new employees to perform their duties with honesty, discipline, dedication and professional responsibility, and to demonstrate through their performance that their selection on merit was the right decision.
The IGP further said every capable individual in the KP Police would be given opportunities to progress, reiterating the department’s goal of building a modern, strong and professional police force capable of meeting changing security and administrative challenges.
The newly appointed computer operators include Nauman Khan, Amir Abbas, Khalifa, Sajid Iqbal, Mumtaz Ahmed, Roman Aziz, Adnan Shah, Muhammad Umar, Asif Ali Shah, Dadu Shah, Sajid Ali, Hazrat Bilal, Muhammad Asim, Muhammad Waqas, Hazrat Qayyum, Arsalan, Irfan Ali, Ashfaq Ahmed, Muhammad Kazim, Sanaullah, Muhammad Ali, Junaid Ahmed, Wajid Khan, Abdul Rehman, Jamal Nasir, Faheem Syed, Isa Khan, Waqar Ali, Farmanullah, Tariq Ali, Muhammad Zubair, Ataullah, Imran Ahmed, Muhammad Muneebullah, Ibad-ur-Rehman, Arsalan Ali and Musaddiq Ejaz Qureshi.
The IGP handed over appointment letters to the newly selected personnel and expressed his best wishes for their professional careers, urging them to consider their new responsibilities a form of national service.
