PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched a large-scale project to establish libraries in religious seminaries across the province, aiming to provide students with better access to textbooks and a modern learning environment.
According to officials, the delivery of curriculum books and library furniture to 210 registered madaris in the province has been completed. A special ceremony to distribute educational material was held at the Auqaf Department Building.
The event was attended by Provincial Minister for Auqaf Muhammad Adnan Qadri, Secretary Auqaf Ata-ur-Rehman, and Head of the Mutahida Ulema Board Maulana Ehsan-ul-Haq.
Under the project, educational material was provided to 140 Madaris in settled districts and 70 madaris in merged districts. A total of 11,760 curriculum books were distributed to support the seminary syllabus.
Each of the 210 Madaris received 7 sets of books covering different academic levels. The books include texts for Dars-e-Nizami levels: Darja Ula, Sania, Salisa, Rabia, Khamsa, Sadisa, Mauqoof Alaih, and Dora-e-Hadith.To facilitate research and study, 2,940 furniture items were also provided.Each seminary received 2 bookshelves, 2 library tables, and 10 chairs.
In total, this includes 420 bookshelves, 420 tables, and 2,100 chairs. Objectives: Provincial Minister Muhammad Adnan Qadri said the purpose of the project is to ensure seminary students have access to curriculum books and a modern educational environment.
The Provincial Minister for Auqaf added that establishing libraries in madaris will help enhance the academic and research capabilities of students. Officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to improve educational facilities in religious institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
